Meet the Maker: Jess 🎨✨

NEED PHOTO

Hey there! I’m Jess — the creative spark behind the studio. I’ve pretty much been making art since the moment I could hold a crayon. My artistic path hasn’t been a straight line, but it’s always been filled with color, curiosity, and creativity.

When I was a kid, I dreamed of being a comic book artist; drawing all day every day. By middle school, I was deep into Photoshop, exploring the world of digital art. High school led me into the magical world of theatre – set design, costumes, and lots of paint under my fingernails.

I earned my BFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and from there, my career took a fun and unexpected turn: designing toys and collectibles! I spent over a decade working with toy companies, learning what makes kids tick — and play. Most recently, I’ve been a concept designer for licensed kids’ home goods (you’ve probably seen my work on the shelves at Target and Walmart!) as well as illustrating costumes in film and TV.

All of this has shaped the way I teach and create — blending professional experience, childhood wonder, and a whole lot of glue and glitter.

When I’m not making or teaching, you’ll probably find me 3D printing something, designing costumes for fun, renovating our house with my husband, visiting antique stores, or curled up watching an '80s sci-fi action movie (my favorite genre, hands down.)

I believe art should be fun, a little messy, and full of personality — just like the people who make it. Can’t wait to create with you!

Why I Started Creative Spark Craft Club ✂️🎨

As someone who’s always chasing that next creative spark, I’m constantly taking workshops and classes — not just to sharpen my skills, but to keep the inspiration flowing. When I moved to Georgia, though, I realized that many of the classes I was looking for were way off in the city... and let’s be honest, creative energy shouldn't have to come with a long commute.

That’s when the idea for Creative Spark Craft Club—something that had been quietly sitting in the back of my mind—started to feel possible. With a little more flexibility in my career and a big love for building community, I thought: Why not create the kind of classes I wish were offered nearby?

Now, I'm on a mission to bring fun, hands-on arts and crafts experiences to the communities around Peachtree City, Fayetteville, Senoia, and Sharpsburg. Whether you're a seasoned maker or just curious to try something new, there’s a seat for you at the craft table.

I believe creativity should be fun, a little messy, and totally full of personality — just like the people who make it.

Can’t wait to create with you!

We’re proud to be fully licensed right here in the great state of Georgia! That means you can craft with confidence, knowing everything we do is safe, professional, and totally above board. 🍑
